Please don't break the stud extractor in the hole as its a specialist job to get them out. I would not take the risk myself unless the thread is fairly loose. Drill the hole out out in gradually increasind increments until you can pick the threads out. If (like me usually) you don't manage to start exactly in the middle and you damage the threads then you may have to resort to a helicoil.
