I'm 72 sorry, I'm new to all this this year, My road bikes are a honda sp2 and a ducati 916 but my 583 is the most fun I've ever had, racing is awsome! the 583s' have to be one the best places to start, everyones so helpful (untill your on track!) but seriously, It's really easy, at first it sounds like a lot of paperwork and stuff but its not to bad once you get started, give chris bushell a call and he will tell you all you need to know, and I'm sure that if you ask on this page someone will sell you a bike ready to run which I recommend having done the same thing and talking to others who have spent alot of money sorting an old road bike. also take a look at the code zero web page its quite good for a newbie to get a flavour of what its about.
oh, and the only thing is, you have to get used to being beaten by a lady!
