If someone with the relevant skills could make a poll of these nominees in a seperate thread (or on this one) for people to vote for, I'd be really appreciative. I guess it'll only be a brief voting run, say until Friday night as I have to award the trophy on the Sunday.

So then, the final candidates from people's votes are:

Sam West:

He's shown great character to come back from his nasty smash at Snetterton and also blinding speed. Despite some bad luck he's still in with a firm shout of the class B title.

Steve Klee:

Lots of DD spirit here, but the event that keeps being mentioned is when he loaned his bike to Harriet after her litle Cadwell incident and then kept changing stuff for her to feel more comfortable on it. Top marks.

Chas Dudley:

To be honest, I'm not surprised to see his name here. Chas has been a stalwart of the series for some time now, is always there on hand to loan spares, advice, help, a bike or a cup of tea. A true gent and excellent raconteur.

Trudi Palmer:

The role of riders rep has been dealt with in an amazing manner by Mrs Palmer. Not content to let people come and see her, she has imersed herself in the role and made sure that everyone and everything is running as it should be. Prize awards have been given more zest and introduced more of the DD spirit as a result, which is of course what this award recognises.

Chris Pullen:

I know this one is a bit close to home, but to be honest, I really feel (as do other people obviously due to the nominations) that he belongs in this list. Aside from being an amazing team manager and race engineer, he has constantly been willing to help others in the paddock, with everything from bike set up to repairs. At Anglesey, he went through about 4 people in the space of a couple of hours. His wife Cathy deserves a mention as well, and was included in the nominations.

So there you have it. As I said, if someone coulkd make this into a poll for me asap that would be mega.

Thank you all
