Yes and no....
Just measured them:
749R Ohlins:
Fork body (gold bit) L = 500mm
Top of Fork Body to spindle C/L = 685mm
996 Showa:
Fork body (gold bit) L = 480mm
Top of Fork Body to spindle C/L = 685mm
