Back in the day,I owned a 999 and 999S,Red Seb had a 749S,and Marko owned a 749 plus a 999S.None of us had an oil leak like that.So,bit of a guess,.....base gasket,rocker cover?
A little oil can go a long way,....its not been overfilled and coming out of the breather system?
Just had a thought,it could be a leaky oil cooler or union.(Early 749/999's were recalled for faulty oil coolers.)
