| If not tampered with or removed the paint finish should be original, if powder coated it could be covering up where the VIN was.
With my Ex V&M Racing CBR600 which had a New Frame provided by Honda Britian I took the receipt for the bike with me to NG meetings and had to produce it on more than one occasion.
Sold that bike in 2000 and got a call from Humberside police about it 4 months ago. As the frame now has the VIN number from the original paperwork stamped on the headstock with traces of another VIN underneath.
