Tony.
Sorry to hear about your problems with such a new bike... But THANKS for posting this message.
I also have a 1000ds ss, and i have just checked my rear down pipe.
I can see where the pipe originally was, and it is now some 10mm lower.
IE slowly working its way towards the body work. I expect it would reach it just as it come out of warranty. (mine is just over 1 year old with 4k on the clock) Stating the obvious you should not have to pay to have your bike put bake to new condition.

It would appear that the clamp bottoms out before the outer pipe is squashed onto the inner pipe. I can see a visable gap between my pipe sleeves which shows that the clamp has bottomed out before the pipes have even started to be clampped together!

I will be contacting Ducati / local dealer to report this tomorrow as it could (as in your instance) be quite nasty.

as for the other stuff..

I have no problems with the fuel light, It usually comes on at around 150 miles. (very ecomonical at around 55 mpg. I need to ride faster.)

The rear brake is very weak, maybe Ducati consider this to be anti-lock braking?

Hope you get sorted soon.
Rich
