Logic...? OK - no expert here, but just applying a little logic to the question... You have only one driving licence, and the vehicles you are entitled to drive/ride on this licence are dictated by the tests you have taken and subsequent classes that are authorised on this licence. It should (and that is a SHOULD, not WILL) mean that you have held your licence for 7 years with category A on it and have just added category B within the last year. I would therefore deduce (are you still paying attention Dr Watson?!) that you will receive 6 points on a 7 year old licence and not face a ban and retest. If you had held a car licence for 7 years and added a bike class last year you would not be expecting to have the whole licence revoked for 6 points, so it shouldn't happen the other way around. The driving licence is not a car licence that you add other things to, it's a permit to drive whatever classes you have on the licence, car or no car. If I'm not right and the authorities are not fair and reasonable it really is time to emigrate! Giles |
