Hi Fly? Is that what you said...pardon?

After years of standing in front of Ampeg, Marshall, Trace Elliot and Eden's finest bass rigs, averaging around 400 watts, and standing to the left hand side of a loud drummer with a crash cymbal next to my right ear, I couldn't tell you hi-fi if it bit me...

But what's in the player....

For nostalgia...Led Zeppelin, The Who, Black Sabbath, Early Genesis (ie: with Peter Gabriel), Yes, Frank Zappa, Mahavishnu Orchestra, UK and Bruford

More recent stuff...Red Hot Chili Peppers, Feeder, Stereophonics, Nickleback, Dave Matthews Band...like a bit of Green Day as well, Most of Peter Gabriels solo stuff, Blue Aeroplanes

Got a soft spot for folky stuff so... All About Eve, Eddie Reader, Afro Celt Sound System, Davy Spillane, E2 .. and Joni Mitchell is superb for her musicianship and lyrics...especially the "Shadows and Light" live album featuring the late, great Jaco Pastorius on bass (every bass player should worship him....I'm not worthy, I'm not worthy)

Stuff that moves me...Almost anything by Sibelius, Mahler (especially the 'Ressurection' symphony), Vaughan Williams, Gorecki, love the harmonic structure of Aaron Copeland's stuff, and Samuel Barber...the famous "Adagio for strings" (can you believe he wrote something as profoundly moving as that when he was only 26?) but his symphonies, violin and piano concerto's are damn fine as well.
