What a place the Wirrina was. Always remember roller skating there...........great place to meet the girls when I was 15.
But...........................gotta say the Clash were good but, in my book, were eclipsed the following year by the Stranglers ........... what a gig that was
A little admission...........
the first band I ever saw was Mott the Hoople at the Hammersmith Odeon in 1973. The support band were pretty good but a bit weird, 'specially the lead singer. My mate thought they were crap but I thought they'd go places cos I loved their closing number. They were called "Queen" of all things and they closed their short set with a fantastic song titled 'Seven Seas of Rhye'.
Dunno what ever happened to them after that...........disappeared without trace I think
