first thing, - I would not ride it until the belts have been changed; 2 1/2 years is over the "advised opinion" service interval for them, and it is considered that if you leave them in one place without turning over the engine for a period of time you might as well replace them. If they are original tyres, again don't ride it, likely them have really gone off, - gone solid. Check the mark by the clutch slave is n't the seal gone, - they perish when used or left standing. Don't want to rain on your parade but it is about the right price, perhaps given the expense of tyres and belts it could have been bargained down lower. It is a lot of good bike for the money but they don't sell easily and the end of the summer. A friend has a really mint 94 Supersport which is rare-ish with a half fairing and black engine he owned it from new, was stored unused for first 6 years full service history for the last 4 years that he has used it, - dealers don't want to know as it is an "old" Ducati so second hand private prices can suffer. He decided the money he can get for it he might as well keep it alongside his collection. [Edited on 3-8-2004 by Ian] |
