Sorry to hear about your burglary mate. Unfortunately I visit people every day that have been broken in to so I know how you feel. Not sure why the Met have dealt with your case like this, whether it's there policy or what. But most forces deal with burglaries as a matter of priority as these are the crimes that the government want police forces to reduce along with vehicle crime. They should have at least given you some advice over the phone to preserve any forensic evidence that may be there until the CSI/SOCO arrives.
I know in our force (Merseyside) we have to attend Burglary Dwellings within 24 hours max. Vehicle crime is usually quicker believe it or not! Anyway glad to hear that someone has had a good service from a CSI/SOCO.
If I were you I would ring them up and find out there policy on sending CSI/SOCO's out to Burgalry Dwellings. If they were supposed to send one and haven't then it may be worthwhile complaining. Unfortunately it wont get you your stuff back. Once again sorry to hear bout the break in!
