Let it lie, tell nobody and get even - it's the emotional mess you need out of your head, with minimum future hassle. It worked for me. Keep smiling in his face. Good luck mate.

You did mention that he had a bike too didn't you. You could go for a ride with him once everything has settled down. All sorts of things happen on fast rides ...
