PayneP ran a 3 bar pump/tank combo on a Class B carby a few years ago at Brands after breaking the front end off his 620 Injected Class A bike and it ran without any problems, although that was only for one day so in everyday use you it might cause a few carb flooding problems

Easiest option would be to change the fuel pressure regulator in the bottom of the pump to a lower pressure item, then any pressure over that from the pump would bleed back to the tank, changing the pump wouldn't hurt but may not be necessary.
maybe some of these items have already been changed
