Nice post mate and for once, I understood it, (and have experience of making changes to race bike brakes that back up the arguement).

On my simple CB500 brakes, I've had three different master cylinders and two different calipers, two different lines (which you didn't mention Shazaam, nor did you mention fluid quality/age), plus several different pad types. The final outcome is that the bike stops, (most of the time), the difference is in the feel at the lever. Some combinations produce minimal travel on the lever and feel really strong, others you have to pull for all you're worth, but they both stop you in the same distance.

Your choice Jim is how you want the brakes to feel for your style of riding.

Now, those that know me can you please stop laughing at me being in the technical section and someone get me back to fluffy kittens
