| i guess its about whether your buying or selling, interest in the market is starting to drop as the end of the season beckons. and there is likely to be an effect on the duacti values considering the 2005 999 launch price, although its not clear how much this will effect the older models
as aguide from a dealer perspective trade value is currently about £4400 with a retail of almost £6k, with a private sale somewhere between the 2, check out the MCN for others asking prices, but dont be fooled into thinking that some of the more hopeful asking prices are achived, they are not, or at least only rarely. ring and see if theyve sold!
i guess youve gota decide on the value/ desirability of the extras, but most people dont really want to pay much extra for them, however if your buying you will be looking to get the extras that you might otherwise buy yourself, so you could be looking at adding a few hundred, special paint jobs are a little more limiting in respect as it a niche market and slightly narrows the reange of prospective buyers, the best way to cash in if your selling (in my opinion) is to sell the bike as near to standard perhaps with the pipes, and cash in on the rest of the extras by putting them on ebay, which will be more likely to make up more than the differance in price. generally the public like and feel confident with standard bikes, and are more nervous about anything that is too individual. however there are always the more knowledgeable punters who know wahts a good modification and what isnt, what makes a bike more desirable and what to look out for with caution.  |
