| Sorry mate, yes Jools is right. The 996,916,748 etc motors all tend to be called four valve motors even though they have eight valves in total! The two valver like the ST2, 900SS, are much cheaper to run in terms of servicing but make less power. For example a 944cc 2 valve motor makes about 75hp while a 916cc four valve motor makes 107hp.
My last service needed three new rockers at £85 each hence the desire not to repeat that exercise in 6000 miles time!! |
