My nephew got his LT50 when he was 4. My daughter has a quad too. These are my thoughts. LT50 - be carefull of non UK models, they don't have the counterweight on the front. They have a cut out fitted to the rear which you can tie some string to when they are learning - give it a tug and the bike cuts out. New UK spec will be supplied restricted - just a restricter in the exhaust side (I think) and easy to remove when the time is right. Reliable little engines but the rip cord starter means little ones are unlikely to able to start it themselves. The choke mechanism in my opion is fiddly and confusing. Depending on the use nuts and bolts do come loose. No suspension so run the tyres with very little air. Biggest problem when he was learning - throttle control - it was either on or off, which made for some very interesting cornering techniques. They do roll on tight corners taken too fast. All in all tho he loved it and genuine ones have good residuals. Try KIK ATV we bought both quads from them and they deal on price. |
