I have some naughty boys please help!!!

I know that this is completely bike unrelated...but I need some help.

Can anybody direct me to any good literature on behaviour management?
I am "super nanny" with dark skin but I have some boys that are not yet succumbing to to my "charm" in the classroom...I need some good strategies as the positive behaviour management isn't yet working.

I know the old "cane em, hit em, good smack'll do the trick, blah de blah" but I can't do that it's the new Millenium!
Any help from you wise people on here would be greatfully recieved

L x

Find their level and speak to em at that - rewards for good stuff - be unmoving for others. They will play you -play them back

Always explain your reasons for good or bad. Make them think - turn it around. Give them options. Then they choose thier punishment or otherwise.

Adolecents - know it all - know feck all - we know that - they dont!

I've got 2 of the ******s - however mine are nice - but it doens't mean ihaven't had to be devious in the past

not sure3 what school rules are like these days, but one of our teachers used to keep a bag of wine gums in her bag.

Try take away all treats, goodies etc.... this usually works without the swift slap! BUT you must be harsh. Whatever their favourite thing - Just ban it!! They soon sit up and listen!

Thanks so much guys
I am he most tolerant of people and am using all the strategies I can...they have yet to spot my bike pictures so that could be a reward in store and one I've used before. The positive behaviours ARE working albeit very slowly & I know (of old) that there is no quick fix. I just need some other strategies under my belt in case they get tired of these.
Apparently we're not allowed to use sweets coz they are seen as bribes! But thanks Glyn, I feel a sweetie jar emerging from my desk drawer!

I didn't think about Trudi, Kev Thanks for reminding me...I may bell her when I get really desperate.
Thanks guys...I know what I am doing already is gonna work eventually but rather than bang my head against a wall till it bleeds and cry myself to sleep with frustration I would pass it to you lot coz you always say such comforting things (even if it is "hit em with a baseball bat, Mav!)
