IE7 uses 100% CPU resource, one solution
Had a lovely morning setting up a mates new Laptop that's intended as a christmas pressie for his wife.
Apart from finding a Trojan worm in the supplied software !!!!
IE7 froze and started running the CPU up to 100%
Turns out it was a set of add-ins, the old Yahoo companion set to be exact.
Turn 'em off via the "Tools>>Manage add-ons>>" options and all is sweetness again.....
Especially since I've also installed Firefox 2.0 - much, much better.
Cheers - Frank
ps IE7 can be set to start up without add-ons to check for problems....."Start>>All programs>>Accessories>>System tools>>IE No addins"

Its weird that the Yahoo home page now has an ad. for IE7 with Yahoo add-ins:
http://uk.downloads.yahoo.com/intern...orer/index.php
Not sure if those would work any better?
IE7 is growning on me a little as it reminds me of happy Macintosh days
But I'm still using Firefox on my own PC.....
Cheers - Frank
