Whatever I do I cannot get my broadband to work. I have reconnected my old modem to post this. Broadband modem is a Sagem F@st 800. Whenever I try to connect I get a message saying no dial tone. I have rung Tiscali and got through to a call centre on the planet Mars and been taken through a process of uninstalling and reinstalling my modem which did bugger all. The man I spoke to then announced that on his screen he had notice that BT were doing some work on a line in my area and it would be back on at 11pm.

I phoned BT who denied any work was going on so I rephoned Tiscali and this time was put through to a call centre on the planet Venus I told them what BT had said and the bloke again said his screen said BT were doing some work and it would be back on at 10.46!?

His word if they make any sense to anyone were something like "we have done a whoosh test and a trouble ticket has been raised for maintenance by BT, the work will cease at 10.46 pm"

I rephoned BT and they said "no everythings fine and we have done a line test"

Whats going on? Any ideas?

The power light is on the modem but the ADSL light is not, I have swapped the filter with the one in the other room and still no joy.

Help me please !
