| Probably completely different but self-employed/contract work in the construction industry is a nightmare and getting worse.Composite company charges for writing cheques,I Paye (basically exploiting loopholes),contractors going bust.If you work continually for the same company for more than a few months,the Inland Revenue asking why your not PAYE.The focus is to have everybody PAYE,not for income tax,its the N.I. they want,employee and employer contributions.We need the old tax system back,employed-pay as you earn.Self-employed pay as you please. |
