Hello and Sprockets

Hello,

My name is Franco Nisco. I am signed up for the 583 class for 2006 season. I am looking forward to meeting and racing the rest of the field and hope for some fun and good times to come!!!

Here i am looking for help already. I have a bike that is being prepped as we speak. I am thinking about gearing at the moment and wonder whether anyone can help so that I can get buying what I need.
Ideally I wanted to know what sprockets I would need to suit all tracks for the forthcoming season (presuming we will be racing on all of the same tracks next year of course).

Any help appreciated

many thanks

Franco

Welcome Franco - I'm in the DD next year too - in the 620s - someone will be along soon with gearing advice for the 583s.

The DD season can't get here quickly enough - it'll be awesome.

Last Season on my 583 dynojetted, K&N plus slip-on silencer making 51.5bhp on the MHP Dyno I used the following gearing

14/40 at Cadwell woodlands but would probably run 15/43 if doing it again

15/43 in the Wet at Donington Park

15/42 at Brands Indy, Cadwell GP and the Minitwin race I did at Pembrey, I would also have used it at Donington if the race had been dry.

15/41 at Castle Combe and Snetterton although 14/38 would probably have been better but I didn't have a 38T rear and at Castle Combe we did have a bit of a tail wind down the fastest part of the circuit.

welcome franco,
don't know about 583 gearing but will see you in the paddock.
not in the 583 class cos i'll be too busy educating rattler in 620's.
Skids knows what he's on about so follow his gearing chart and you won't go far wrong.

2006 - bring it on!

I'll probably run 15/42 at Oulton in quallifying and see how it feels. Pretty much the same as I did at most tracks this year, as I didn't do any pre race trackdays in preperation, just turned up with my best guess and went from there and ended up with the above.

Also here in this Excel doc
