Card at the bar

Hello all,

Thought I'd quickly introduce myself.
I've decided to have a go at the Ducati phenomenon. I no longer need to commute long distances or have absolute comfort so it was time to get rid of the VFR.
It was an easy decision to make as the shop offered me a straight swop, my 02 VFR (with nearly 28k on the clock) for an 03 800SS (with 1400 on the clock).

I'm a bit confused after having a good read through this board as to whether it's a sport or a supersport, but regardless the test ride was fun and as it hasn't cost a jot I think it's worth it. I even got a bit of Italian character as the bike broke down half way through the test ride due to a buggered battery.

Anyway, card is on the table, help yourself

Welcome! I think it's a Supersport, hence the SS....

Someone who knows more will be along soon though!

Guiness please.

Welcome to the board CJ! 800SS is a very tasty bike, makes slightly more power than the old carbed 900 with similar stable-but-tweakable handling. I'm sure twpd will be along shortly to tell you how to tune the balls off it...

Mine's a bloody mary please, heavy on the spice.

Cheers,

Ali

Cool bike, I like 'em. It'll be a supersport, I don't think they made any 800 sports, but I've been known to be wrong...if it's got twin discs up front it'll be an SS.

Blimey though, card behind the bar....in that case I'll have a bottle of Laphroiag with the top off

This time of day think I'll join lancisto and have an espresso - Thanks.

Welcome to the DSC, good luck and have fun on your Duke.

As an aside, giving us all Access to your plastic like that is appreciated, however could be extremely costly, there are some here who are not easily satisfied with a coffee, in fact some have very expensive palettes. It is also customary to supply chocolate and several boxes of donuts, just to keep everyone sweet.

I hope your plastic friend is flexible, very flexible.
