Progress - bikes and weights

I was up at Hartside today and bumped into a lass I know. She's recently chopped in her Bandit 6 for a CBR400RR cos she's a bit short in the leg. Anyway, she was telling me how much lighter it was than the Bandit and that she felt much more confident when manhandling it - I lifted the 400 off its sidestand and was astonished to find that the thing felt quite a bit heavier than my 800ss. Conclusion - the Japs must lie about claimed weights.

My 999 is about 20 kg lighter than my old XJ900F from 18 years ago. If only it was as light as a new GSXR 750, might make things about easier on the Sunday Morning Run. Sheesh. :O
