Last night in the storms I picked up some gravel between me and the tank....

can anyone recommend any touch up paint?

odd though, they want me to chip a bit of paint off and send it to them as they can't find a match.....

My dealer sells a touch up pen with liquid paint. I didn't take a great deal of notice but it looked like an official Duke thing

RS can't find a match? Seems unlikely, unless your bike is very recent model.

They insist that the colours change by model/year, and I have no doubt they have been right on that. Ducati red is not just one shade. However, I have taken a guess before, like going for 2003 ST2 dark blue because they didn't have 2003 M620Sie blue. It was right and the touch up worked a treat. All it means is that you take the risj on it not being right as it's your decision not theirs.

As for the official Ducati offering ... I arrived at RS because the silver touch up stick from Ducati for the ST2 was nothing like it.

Bummer. I think touch ups are £5 or £6 a shot now, so you could try both I guess or try one and 50/50 chance of getting it right. I would say either would be closer than one from Ducati, but I might be wrong on that and willing to be corrected. Pretty sure it would require a grey undercoat and they will want to sell you a clear laquer to go over it but you don;t relaly need that on stone chips. Aerosols are (were) £10 a go and once you have identified the corret shade from the touch up you know the code for that then.

I got the colour code for mine by contacting a Ducati dealer.
I would think that the shades will be very close and once the area has been rubbed and polished it will not be noticable.
