I quite like the look of these. Having recently be utterly underwhelmed by the 1098, I am quite taken with the LE1000. Take off some of the glitz, get it simple, get it light, put a loud pipe on it and set it up right.

Light, torquey, full of stomp, simple two-valve motor and as quick as anything else on a twisty northern A-road. Ideal it would seem.

I saw Gizmos bike at the weekend and this really appeals to me.

Anyone have any experiences with these bikes? TIA.

The 1000ds engine on the sport classics is a few horses down compared to the SS and monster. Probably because of the smaller airbox. Not TOO important but worth saying (me thinks... )

The front brakes are not even close to the ones you are used to on your SS. You might need to change the calipers and discs.

Apart from that, I'm sure you'll like it. Riding position is not much different to your SS.
