Start up delay

Hi Folks,
Hope all are well,
Sometimes on start up there is quite a delay from pressing the starter button
and the engine turning over.
Is this a sign that the starter solenoid or starter relay may be getting tired?
Any one else had something similar?.
thanks in advance,
Jeff.

It could be the contacts of the start button, I had an Aprilia one apart last week to clean the contacts as it had stopped working altogether
