NIce and concise Twinfan!

The adjustable seat/tank position was ONLY on the monoposto versions, the biposto being set to about the mid position.

I thought that the adjsutable footpegs were on all of them, but I'll not swear to that.

I agree that there are more important things than bhp on the road. I downsized from the 996 motor of the ST4s to the 749S and have been very happy with it Suspension upgrades were of more importance to me too.

Thanks HW

And you're correct - adjustable footrests are on all models, and adjustable tank/seat on all monopostos.

Note - R models do not have the same adjustability on the footpegs as other models (there is some, but not as many options as other models), something I spotted a while back

My footpegs arn't adjustable, 749 bip ?

Oh right ... that was one of the selling points of the 749 that interested me. Being a lanky blighter I wanted to be able to adjust the position. I traded adjusting the seat position for having a biposto, as I found that suited me anyway as it was.

Footpeg brackets are not mounted on an array of holes then Ian?

B***er.

I notice that your frame has the round lower mounting that you are using for the stand? Steve's has that on his 749 which I had been puzzled about. Hadn't noticed the lack of holes on the pegs though.

Excellent thank you all for your comments! I might go for the BP as I will upgrade the suspension to ohlins rear and front springs at some point anyway as I did this mod on my 748 and it handles so much better. Plus I have found insurance to be cheaper on the bp than the s.

You might find the suspension to be fine if you get it set up right. I paid 100% Suspension £40 at a track day to set mine up and it was ike riding a different bike after. Best £40 I ever spent I reckon. Still grinning about it now!

Just to confirm (and add my 2 penneth worth)

Base model 749 has standard fork legs, fixed foot pegs, no damper (not sure on this one), fixed angle on steering. S model has the adjustable peg's, Nitride fork legs, adjustable steering angle, damper and better suspension all round.

As for the engine I thought the S model had a little more power over the base model .... but not that noticable.
