Rear wheel locating pegs.

I have unfortunately got a groken rear pin or two that I need to remove.

I have got the nuts out but the remaining shank that was left after the pin broke has got a rather stubborn attitude and wont come out of the back plate where the rear disc mounts to the rear axle.

The bolts had thread set or similar on them but I got these out.

The shank of the pin is stuck and even after a few, read lots, of light, read heavy, taps, read clouts, of a hammer and drift they dont want to come out.

Has anyone had to do this before and got any tips?

Was thinking of heating the plate and tapping it out as I think they have been heat shrunk in by the looks of it?

Hints advice and p!$$ taking gladly accepted.
