Disabling the sidestand cutout - HOW?

I can't start my 996 with the sidestand down due to the cutout which makes it a pain especially when warming up. Apparantly its quite easy to disconnect but leave the cutout that prevents you riding off with the sidestand down. So how do you do it? Or do I have to buy a kit? Where from?
