996 Fuel Pump Doesnt Prime - Help My 996 fuel pump doesn't prime now when the ignition is turned on. Is there a common issue that causes this, before I start digging about? I haven't done anything at all to the bike since I last rode it. Cheers Simon |
On my 2000 748 it only primes when the sidestand is up... caught me out for a couple of hours once when trying to get the bike running!!! |

Just went and checked and it is up, so its not that :( |
try the relay first other problems have been traced to the through connector in the pump assemble or the fuel pump itself. |

Is there a dedicated relay for the fuel pump or is it shared with another circuit? |
1 Attachment(s) Shares with Coils and injectors |
Its one of the big ones under the riders seat, there are two identical ones next to each other iirc. |
I would still permanently bypass the side stand switch Ant mentioned. Easy job. :) |
Forgot to ask Simon, is it alarmed |

Nope no alarm. Thanks for all the responses, will be looking later this week. Prob will bypass the sidestand switch too anyway. Simon |
