Rear wheel removal ...
 

I have new tyres, and need to get the wheels off ... simple so far ! :D

I have an official Ducati rear stand with a bar to stop the whell rotating as you undo the big FO nut.

So, if the paddock stand is plugged into the axle , it stikes me that you can't get the wheel off. There is no way that you can turn the stand around 180 and do it from the other side .....

Or do I have to use an ABBA stand in combo with the Ducati paddock stand ...?

Or am I being incredibly thick ? :o

I don't speak from experience, but I did enquire on here about socket sizes for a mate with a 916 a while ago and was reliably informed that you do not have to take off the big nut for rear wheel removal, just the smaller one. I've helped adjust chain tensikon before, isn't the big one for adjusting the chain/hub assy and the wheel is located from the other side with a smaller nut?

Not sure if that is of help, but it talks of the wheel side and the sprocket side so I think that is right. Someone will be along shortly no doubt who does know. :eureka:

The wheel is held on the right side with a 46mm nut,the nut on the actual swingarm doesnt need touched to remove it.
Undoing that nut is a different story,brute force and ignorance!:D:saint:


....oh yeah,the paddock stand should go in the left side,the swingarms side which leaves your wheel clear.:D

If you;ve not adjusted your chain (yet) there is some info linked from that thread I posted above about it. Don't need to undo the swingarm side for that operation either.
