Mid 80,s 750 F1 bikes Does anyone on here own one of these bikes. According to my book Ducati Supersport by Ian Falloon these bikes were a street replica of the TT1 bikes campaigned in 1984 to 1986 in F1 and endurance event Anyone got any pictures whether race or road.Would love to see one in the metal. Thanks alot:D |
Do you mean one of these? |
For more pics, have a look at Google images. |
Thats the one Keefy, spot on.Thanks for the Google tip never used that before. So has anyone got one! |
I was in the Aus Army with a bloke who had one exactly like the one in KeefyB's post. He posts on here very occasionally as shmoki He still lives in Brisbane and has been on here in the 888 forum a bit. He never let me ride it though and now it's one of those bikes that I'd love to ride. I would consider adding one to my collection if I can ever get one going. I think he still has it actually. Nice bikes..also did 2 special edition high performance versions..the santa monica and montjuich (named after the circuits). There was a rumour ducati were looking to make an F1 sportclassic...the prototype picture looked fantastic !! Nat |
If I am not mistaken, Paul James has one of these for sale in Towcester |

The bike in the pic I posted is an early one with the old style graphics. The bikes were being made during the Cagiva take over period,so later models had Cagiva style logo's with the little elephant. Always fancied one myself, they are the last of the Pantah engined bikes with the forward facing rear cylinder.Unfortunately the F1 did not meet the tightening emission regs,(the 'silencer' was virtually straight through and there were no air filters!),so production had to finish. The replacement was the 750 Sport of 1988,a smoother quieter, but more ugly bike.(Have'nt we heard that one before!?;) ) There was a nice one for sale recently in the U.S.A.
