German Ebay payment

I have just bought something on German Ebay, the seller does not have paypal, and for me to wire over the payment will cost me £18 (natwest) is there another way for me to get the payment to him. I have all his bank details.

Was discussed quite recently, and the general consensus was to post cash if it's not too large an amount. I've done it a couple of times with no probs.

dukess, its 119 euros, what would that cost me to exchange pounds into that amount?

keefer 06-Apr-2006 17:45

if you have a descent bank account it would be free

I had the same problem, seems German e-bay accounts don't like paypal. Being honest I won't buy from anyone now that does not take paypal .... I know there are issues, but, it is so easy to use.

119 euro is about £88. If you have a decent bank account they should give you euro's free of commission.

excellent, fingers crossed.

Yep - good old Post office worked for me - but my amount was lower so I was able to use the std postal insurance that covers up to £30.

For cash, I think its worthwhile to make sure its fully insured, even for the extra cost.

:devil:In the process of doing it,they should send you the item first, then you send the cash in euros rounded up to the nearest 5euros (smallest note).
