scrub in new tyres= easy popped down to my mates to have my pilot race tyres fitted today. when i asked about scrubbing in ?. p.o.p! to take the slippy shiney stuff off, just spray on brake/clutch cleaner on the tyre & rub with a rag.:). i found it worked a treat.:D |
I've always been told it takes more than that. For the first few miles there are still "mould" release agents coming out of the surface of the rubber. I know people who have used emery cloth, a paddock stand and had the bike in gear while they emery cloth the tyre. Still slippy until it's done some miles on the road. |
Wise words Carbon dude. |
it just takes off the slippy shinny stuff away so 3 laps on a track should be ok or a few road miles will do. |
i find going out and givin the tyres a damn good seeing too on your favorite twistys will usually sort um out |

At your speed make that a full session. Beware of lean angle, don't get tootling around and then suddenly go for it:o Just build up steadily with each lap. [Edited on 22-3-2006 by Jon] |
