Hailwood Needs a Bike for the TT - Can YOU Help?

We had a request from Ducati UK, as below. If you can help, or know of someone who can, please get in touch!

Dave Hailwood has been invited to the TT to celebrate 100 years of the Mountain Circuit by representing his late father and the momentous Ducati ride he had in 1978 and the fact he was 14 times TT winner, 10 times World Champion!

To do this, Dave needs a Hailwood Replica to ride the Mountain Circuit on a Parade Lap along with other Milestones of the Mountain who are riding or being represented such as:

· Geoff Duke – 6 times TT Winner, 6 times World Champion
· Giacomo Agostini – 10 times TT winner and 15 times World Champion
· Phil Read – 8 times TT winner, 8 times World Champion
· Joey Dunlop – 26 times TT winner, 5 times World Champion
· Steve Hislop – first rider to lap at 120mph
· 1992 Senior TT Race between Steve Hislop and Carl Fogarty regarded as the best ever TT Race
· Philip McCallen – first rider to win 4 TT Races in one week, 11 times TT winner
· David Jefferies – 9 times TT winner
· John McGuinness – 15 times TT winner, first rider to lap at 130mph

And the list goes on and on.... many great names and we wouldn’t want Ducati to be left out of such a great milestone in Motorcycle Racing history or forget what an important milestone Mike Hailwood’s TT win was for Ducati!

Dave has transport for the bike to and from the IOM sorted and is investigating insurance for the bike.

Can you or your members help him? It would be a great honour to see your bike ride the TT with the great Hailwood name and will make a great story for your club magazines and web sites.

He’ll need details of the bike, it’s history etc.... the more info you can give him the better chance you have of having your bike ridden in such a historic place and by such a great name.

Hope someone out there can help him!
