ACU License

Hi Folks

I am about to put a deposit on a class B bike and want to get all the other things underway

So a question:

The ACU License. I saw a post about 2012 that you could sign up with a course by Hottrax, all class room based.

I have also seen one by Bemsee that is a two day "Race School". Is it worth doing this? I am assuming that it doesn't matter who I do the ACU test with?

I have done some track days, never raced though.

Cheers

I'm in the same boat, but I'm doing my CTC Competitor Training Course in Rugby next Monday at ACU House. Give them a call on 01788 566400 or check http://www.acu.org.uk/Resource/Compe...ng-Course.aspx

The CTC course is useful, but still nothing will prepare you for your first outing on the grid. Whether its worth doing the bemsee two dayer is another thing.

The DD paddock is full of knowledge and helpfull competitors - helping you get on the grid on your first weekend with us good for us all. The more out the better the racing. If you have done a few trackdays, the CTC course is really only a method of the ACU covering their arses in issuing you a licence.

There is no real game changing info given, and the test is a bit of a mockery.

Ah I might not bother with the two dayer then.

Spend the money on a track day or two in preparation.

Cheers all!

I'd done a few track days then just did the CTC course. As mentioned above the other guys in the paddock will help with what you needed to do, where to go and when, come race day.
