After making history by being the 1st brit to win a spanish 125GP race, our young lad that we look after (Bradley Smith) has just won his 2nd race!!!!!

Qualified .4 behind thomas luthi (there for the sponsors) 2nd on the grid, and after luthi decided not to race, Bradley just dissapeared into the distance!

Even cassey stoner never won a race in the spanish supercup!
keep your eyes on this kid, hes our best hope of ever doing anything in the GP scene!

Good luck to him and lets all hope he fulfills his potential.

But is he actually going to get the chance?

We all know that your passport is what really seems to count these days in 125s. Will the sponsorship be there in a couple of years when (if) he gets the chance to move up to the bigger stage or is he going to end up going the national 4 stroke route which ultimately seems to be a dead end in the (only) "real" championship?

they really want to avoid the chaz davies route which is to compete on a private basis as you will never be on competitive machinery.

But Alberto Puig is his mentor (discovered Pedrosa) and rumours are that they want to move him straight to a factory moto GP 125 team next year!

They will not find out until after the final race (weekend coming) as they dont want to distract him.

He is a wonderful kid and has a very old head on his shoulders.
Amazing really, he has only raced for one year and has gone from the aprilia 125 cup (club racing) to winning a BSB race at Oulton this year to winning 2 Spanish GP races!:D

Unbelievable, I really wish him the best. It must be so hard to break through when the continental riders seem to be favoured by the sponsors.

There was a nice article on Bradley in the last issue of Motorcycle racer. Good read. I know we all like to talk about 'established stars', but it's really these lads that we should be cheering for, if we want some Brits in MotoGP.

Somebody needs to wind the publicity machine up a bit, Considering he's from just up the road from me at Garsington nobody in the area knows of him. With the potential he has he needs a higher profile if he is to attract the right backers.
When he was in the comentry box during the Valencia MotoGP he came across really well and Julian Ryder certainly put the right type of questions to him which showed what a mature head he has on such young shoulders

They have been deliberately keeping his profile quiet to help him keep his feet on the ground.

After assessing him via interviews at high profile events they have decided to up the attention a bit.

The GP academy have been really good actually, very strict but teaching them media skills as well as mentoring their riding.
He really is amazingly gifted and has been lucky enough to spend a week with sete (to teach them to 'back it in' on super moto's) etc...
They entered him into one of europes biggest off road events as part of his fittness regime (over 3000 riders) and he bloody won!!
I was with him at the donnington gp chatting away and you suddenly catch yourself thinking...hang on, this kids only 14! its as if your sitting with one of your mates.
Great insight into the professional racers life etc...bike set up etc...

Touch wood, if he stays healthy and keeps his feet on the ground he will go far.
