Quickshifters - over-rated? options?

Anyone offer up some advice on which are the best Quickshifters to use?

I know there was a recent post - but it didn't cover all info.

JHP are doing a deal at the mo' on Techtronic ones (I think) and I may fancy buying myself an early Xmas pressie!!!:P

Are there many different kinds?

Can you switch them on/off?

What sort of money am I looking at?

How easy are these to fit?

Are there bad ones out there?

Realistically for track use only?

I know that Jasper and JPM have got them, who else, what are you boys using and are you glad you did? Do you wish you'd paid out more for a better one?

Might see if there are any deals at the NEC!!

All responses welcome

I like my Techtronics shifter, fairly easy to fit but the wiring needs to be cut into. It can be switched off if not needed. As much use off a track as a slipper clutch, but I have one of them as well :lol::lol:
P.S. Just seen one on E-Bay for £400

Mine was fitted by JHP at the last service, from what I remember the techtronics ones should have all the correct plugs etc to fit straight onto the coils without cutting anything......

Yes it is switcheable on/off, has a flick switch, mine is mounted on the clutch fluid reservoir.

I have a small issue with mine where very intermittently it fails to engage the next gear, to be honest I haven't investigated it, but it is very annoying...

When it works, it works very well :D

Dibbs knows what I mean!!!!

...in fact he hasn't got the fairings yet anyway!!!:D:D:D:D

As for your Techtronics mate Dave, please can you let me know costs for my bike?
