Errr, are you sure that's wise??? I'd be getting the dealer to check everything out.

Just out of interest, you say you cleaned the brakes after stripping them. Were they particularly dirty? Has your RHS brake disc turned blue at all?

stuart hill 21-Mar-2005 14:31

Not going to risk anything more than a slow ride the road as it were.
No they were pretty clean to be honest, I just pulled it apart i.e. removed the pads and brushed of any brake dust with a suade brush. I'll check the disc again tonight - not sure if it has any blue marks on it. Definately not something I noticed straight away or remember distinctly.

It's worth checking to see if the pads have been overheating the disc at all.

take it to Woods in Abergele, bought my 749dark from them last october and they are really helpful and genuine.Have dealt with ducati manchester in the past and thats the way it will stay with them,in the past!!

Marko's 749 has suffered from brake judder from new.The dealer thinks that the banjo bolts on the calipers are faulty.(As on the Multistrada)Incorrect bore size or summat,he's having new one's fitted at the next service.

sounds like warped discs to me

get it checked by a dealer

I get it too, but not all the time. Can't work out what it is, will get JHP to have a look at it the next time its in. Discs look fine to me :puzzled:

stuart hill 22-Mar-2005 10:02

Well, I never got to take the 749 out for a gentle ride in my attempts to understand this weekends brake judder, mainly thanks to the glorious british weather.
I did check the discs though and no blue colouring on either.
Going to phone Ducati Manchester and see what they have to say. I'll keep you posted...

Please do - I'd like to know the outcome :)

Could it have been damaged by a disc lock? some people forget to take them off while moving a bike.. I know I have done it on my old 600RR. Luckily no damage though.
