not working

My 749s has been in a friends garage for the winter whilst I've been having some building work done. Unfortunately as he has no power in the garage i't not been connected up to it's Optimate.

Went round to collect it today (only next door) to find no power - as expected. Having wheeled it back home and put it on the charger I expected it to start as normal but after switching off the alarm and turning the ignition key the dash goes through it's normal cycle but the EOBD and petrol lights stay on and flash incredibly quickly - with the side panels off I can here what i presume to be a relay clicking below the battery housing and ECU. No surprises that its a non starter.

Any ideas folks?

sounds like your battery has expired big time you'll probably need a new one

It could be that if the battery was completely flat the ECU has lost its "memory".
The EOBD light flashing probably means the engine has beeb imobilised. You can disable this by using the red key.The instructions are in the owners handbook.
You may need to get your black keys reprogrammed.

749 won\'t start!!

walked out to the garage this morning looking forward to taking the bike out for a blast and lo and behold the bloody thing wouldn't start the engine was turning over but it wouldn't fire up so a quick phone call to my local dealer was swiftly followed by a call to the recovery people who come and took it away.
1,is this a problem that other 749/999 owners have come across and does this happen to the older models i.e 748/9**.
last month it let me down and they had to replace one of the coils! i'm getting a bit p****d off with my bike because its no good to me stuck in the dealers every month especially as i don't get much time off work to get out and play, any suggestions would be much appreciated.:(:(

The coil on my 749s had to be changed last month after it wouldn't start. It was a good job I checked it, I was going to Almeria 4 days later! I'm wondering if this is a common fault?
