Monster v SS - which is best for DD ???
 

It would be nice to see who had what in the results.

Neil Spalding reckons 620 Monster, basically because the chassis is more easily adjustable.

If I ever get to do DD (persuading Mrs Jools is harder than finding the money - even though I'm still skint) I would go that route simply because the Monster is basically a naked ST chassis and that's what I'm used to

Charlotte, the 620 SS doesn't exist, it's called just Sport :D:D:D
Maybe Ducati thought it was not "Super" enough to be called SS :(

Mr Spalding has set up TP's and MW's monsters with ST4S geometry - what does that say..........

best chassis and geometry in the range being mumbled by the ST massive...

when you say set up what are we talking about ? just ride height? steering head angle cant be changed and i guess neither can swingarm pivot point?

Err .. I don't know! Would have to have a chat to Neil about it. Hey, I just fork out the cash and ride the thing!

It should be said though that while other people are having bike issues, ground clearance, bike not steering the way they like etc - Mine does everything I want it to and laughs at me for not being faster. Not bad for a 620 Monster.

It's a shame really, because I'd have some excuses to use for not being quicker and maybe a few things to look at to find some speed. When really all I have to look at is me and maybe some gearing changes!

next time you get the chance stand your bike next to Tony's or Michaels. It is sitting much higher than ours. Tops of forks are flush with the top yoke and the rear is much higher. Nothing to do with suspension internals or Ohlins this and that, just the geometry of the bike created by adjusting front and rear ride height which emulates that of the ST4S.

Riding higher they plop into the corners easier but still maintain the right chassis attitude (front end bias).
