power commander or cpu bought 102db kit for 999 with filters and cpu,, don't know whether to use chip(cpu) or buy power commander and set that up on dyno,, heard good things about it!!!? heard a few bad stories with swapping cpu's. can anyone give me any advice..:saint: |
I think you will have to fit the cpu anyway, then also get further benefits from a PC. PC111 usb is the one to go for.....so im told. Unles you have an R then theres no map as yet, unless you have it created. PC told me theres no support from them yet for PC111usb on the R...bugger |
I fitted a set of 57's with the DP supplied ECU - its not just a chip swap like earlier models its the whole "brain". I found the DP ECU fueled ok but not perfect. If you fit it yourself do not forget to re-attach the black wire under the head of one of the ECU mounting bolts. I have since had a PC fitted aswell and this has improved things significantly. If you don't want to fit a PC to trim the DP ECU you can buy a Corse ECU to replace the DP item which is modifiable, but will cost around £800. FIM hope to have their replacement ECU available later this year which is a further option. |
just found out pc111usb for 999 will work straight of original cpu,, think this will be the way to go,,, got to finish runnig in before they ring its neck on rolling road.... |
Just spoken to Steve at Moto Rapido and he's going to fit me a PC. It's programmed with a John Hackett map for the 999R and should get another 6-8 bhp. I'm more interested in smoothing out the torque curve as it's up and down like a *****'s draws. I'll keep you posted. |
does this mean if i buy a pc111usb form US(half price to uk) I could get it programmed to jhp fuelling map? |
half price in usa.. thats interesting,, who will you use? |
