Can you elaborate please ? Was thinking of doing something with ESS myself in May. |
So was did you think it would be? And what WAS it?? |
And give us some laptimes - sandbagger! |
Well - for what cost approx £100 more than a standard trackday (I didn't pay that much!!!) I was dissapointed. I was in the advanced group - advanced senility I think! - and there was no strong instructor presence, they were around, but you had to go and find them, despite was was suggested at the start. We were told we would be in strict grid format and our instructor would find us and there would be after session de-brief etc, but not one instructor spoke (or even tried to) to me !! There were only 7 people in my group and there was plenty of room on the track (especially as there was a dearth of instructors!!!) so that was good, but hardly by design!! There were classroom sessions on suspension and some track craft but it was a bit hit and miss. There was one session on track psychology that I thought was very good, but again you weren't really encouraged to attend, and I stumbled upon this one. Maybe this style suits some who can take or leave the sessions as suits them, but I do prefer the CSS, the structured, more regimented style of their teaching suits what I'm looking for on an instructional riding school. Perhaps if I was in the Novice or Inters group there may have been more encouragement or teaching - who knows. But for that kind of money, I was expecting a bit more. If anyone's attending one, be sure to push for the instruction and advice etc, it is there, but you have to go a huntin' !!! Enjoy Tim:ninja: |

As it was raining heavily, I wasn't expecting much, so imagine my suprise when I managed a couple of 55's and a marginal 54 !!!!! - and that was round the GP circuit ;):lol::lol::lol::lol: Tim |

Oh few, I thought you were going to be quicker than me for a bit. No worries, I'm sure you'll be ok when the racing starts ;) |

would you do another pace day or would you just stick to a normal trackday...just wondering... |
I'd either go the whole hog and enrol with the CSS if I wanted instruction, or just attend a normal trackday. Most trackday organisers are pretty good at getting the experienced trackdayers out there and letting them get on with it. I'm not sure that first-time trackdayers get the full benefit or attentive briefings etc,,,, that more experienced guys may have received in the past. Tim |
