46mm off the top of me head

You have a nut on the top of your head!

Yup, 46mm. Normally they only have in stock the 1/2" impact version. No problem there. Best to grind the rounded bevel type edge off so you get the maximum grip. Best few quid you can spend. Don't forget the torque wrench or scaffold pole.

46mm, and get your local machine shop to grind it down to the same height as the faces on the nut.

I strongly recommend getting a 3/4 inch drive socket and a 3/4 inch drive breaker bar. I broke/bent the following trying to remove mine:

2 x 1/2 in breaker bars, 2 (good) 1/2 in ratchets, 2 x 1/2 in tommy bars.

3/4 bar inch makes it easy.

I would doubt if Halfords will stock this size, mine didn't.
Best to go to a local tool specialist

I bought one from Halfords, disguised as a 1 13/16" Ball Joint impact socket.
