Help Needed to Find 1000ss Headers

Urgently looking for the exhaust headers for a Supersport 1000.

This is for a race bike build that has gone a bit off the rails. We've run out of time to have the custom exhaust made that was planned, and now will revert to the standard headers with high level carbon cans for the first race.

Unfortunately, it's a long story, the engine didn't come with headers and the donor bike is a 900ss.

900ssie headers won't fit the 1000DS engine. Nor will any other combination of Monster or Supersport headers. It would seem that the 1000ss is a bit of a unique beast in this respect.

With time fast running out, we're searching desperately for these items. If anyone can possibly assist in locating some it would really be very much appreciated. Even if someone just had some to loan until after the end of the month, it would really get us out of a spot of bother.

PM or call me on 07791693307

Thanks!

I have a full Multistrada 1000ds system here. Youre welcome to borrow it and see if you can use the headers and see if you can fasten a single can to it (just the one outlet from headers to cans) I would need it back at some point for whenever I sell my bike. Only prob I suppose is that its the standard system with Cat and front pipe that runs down the side of the engine rather than underneath.

May also be worth a look for a staintune system or headers for a Multistrada, goes under the engine and then one outlet on the rhs. I know its not exactly what you want but probably wouldnt be much of a job to just have one can on the rhs? Theres often Multi staintune headers for sale on Multistrada.net.

And if youre running out of time?

As far as we know, the Multi headers won't fit, specifically the one from the rear cylinder. This is due to the fact that the 1000ss uses a double sided swingarm and the cantilever setup of the rear shock. The same goes for all Monster headers - even for the double sided swingarm Monster 1000 - the shock gets in the way.

620/800/750/900ss headers also won't fit due to the depth the headers need to go into the engine on the 1000ss.

Overall, it would seem that the 1000ss headers are a pretty unique setup in the Ducati range.

Thanks for the thoughts and kind offer though. Much appreciated.

Thanks for the offer, Martin, its really appreciated.

As Phill says, it seems that the 1000SS engine is something of a unique beast and no amount of cludging will get around the problem!

We'll keep trying.

Would 1000DS headers be similar I wonder?

I've checked on Ebay Germany and came up with Zero I'm afraid.

Neither Silmoto or Marving appear to make headers for either.

Sorry - Good luck

Frank

Its 1000DS headers were after Frank, but from the SS, not the Multi. They're like hens teeth, it would seem...
