Off to the Nurburgring for the 1st time over Easter, any advice......

I'm going with a few seasoned pros that should know what it's all about, but any useful info for a 1st timer would be good.

Take a warm jacket

Weather could easily be cr*p so early in the year

If they know where they are going, follow one of them and let him use his mirrors to check behind....that way you can coincentrate on following him and looking where you are going.

There is a lot of 'rapid' traffic (cars & bikes) there so you need to keep right (indicate right to let people by) if being passed. Your leader should do the mirror thing for you, to allow you to look where you are going!

Enjoy it though cos there is nothing else like it!!

Ride it like a fast road that you don't know, NOT like a race track and you will be ok. The main corner complexes have names-the one to look out for is 'Adenau Forest' it's basically a chicaine that turns left then VERY hard right-lots of people get it wrong as you will see from the tyre tracks over the curbs and across the gravel.
Enjoy it, it's unique, and be prepared to want to go back again and again-it's addictive.

Thanks for the advice folks. All very true & useful.

Weather was mainly t-shirt warm with a bit of rain on Friday & Saturday afternoon, but it soon dried out. The dry line actually made it easier to learn the track a bit !!! Sunday morning was a wash-out, but I certainly can't complain.

On Saturday, they opened the Short circuit as well. You turned of the old circuit, did a lap of the F1 GP circuit & rejoined the old track which was about 17 miles per lap!!!! Awesome.

If anybody's thinking of going - DO IT !!!! I can't wait for the next time.
