916 Running Cold.

My 916 is finally up and running and after spending Sunday blasting about I have to say it's as enjoyable as my 999R and much more enjoyable than my GSXR 1000. In fact I'd go as far as to repeat the age old proverb, 'Power Is Nothing Without Control'. If I was on my GSXR1000 I’d go as far as to say that on a twisty road I'd be overtaking myself on the 916 any day. Anyway, where was I ... Oh ! Yes, My 916 appears to be running very cold, around 40 - 60 on the temp gauge. Either the gauge is reading false or has my thermostat failed open ? I know my Fiat Strada used to fail open but not sure with the old Ducati? Any help would be much appreciated.

:puzzled:

Mines like that at the mo mate but it does warm up in traffic ! in the summer the temp runs around 80.

Cheers for the help, it must be because I keep thinking the climates getting warmer when it's not :)

Mine usually stays at ~80 if there are 15-18 degrees C outside. But in traffic it gets close to 100.

It it's colder (10deg C) it stays just above 60.

Most thermostats are designed to fail open.
