A.J.Racing Announcement

This is an open announcement to all members of the Ducati Sporting Club from Alan Shirley of AJ Racing.

Dear friends and fellow Ducatisti,

With effect from September 30th AJ Racing will cease trading in order to allow me to pursue other opportunities that have been offered to me in Motorcycle Racing and Engineering. The business has grown over the past few years and, I feel, has established itself as one of the more successful independent racing Ducati specialists. However with fewer Championship teams running twins and a broad spectrum of engine tuners supporting the Ducati riding clubmen I have been involving myself in other aspects of race engineering.

I am currently under contract to a BSB Superbike team and have designed and manufactured development parts for chassis for this and other teams in the paddock. This has led to several offers which will enable me to spend more time with my family and still remain involved in racing at a very high level.

I am lucky to have worked World Championship Moto-X, British Supersport, and BSB over the 20 years I have been involved in racing. My life is racing, but my life is racing by. I have decided to place a higher priority with my family, and my new opportunities permit this.

My new direction, I feel, is not possible to achieve from within the framework of my existing business which was built around Ducati race bikes. There are already many established independent Ducati road bike service organisations, in addition to the franchised dealerships, many of whom are already used by members of this list. To me AJ Racing could never be AJ Road. I want to close this business as a success and, I believe, with a good reputation.

To reflect the support I have received from the members of the Ducati Sporting Club I have chosen to make this announcement directly to you. Further, in the next few days I shall be preparing a list of surplus new and used Ducati spares; the Club members will have the first opportunity to see the lists.

Thankyou to the Club members who have given their loyal support

Regards

Alan
